Lake Hartwell is a 56,000 acre lake and is one of the souths largest recreation lakes. This manmade lake is dam controlled and extends across the Savannah river with a span of over three miles. Residing in both South Carolina and Georgia it is a main souse of hydroelectric power. Excellent stripped and largemouth bass fishing are available here. 1:45 travel time from Asheville.
