From the high country of the Trinity Divide, the headwaters of the Sacramento River include numerous tributaries. Its three main forks stride down from alpine slopes gaining girth and grandeur as streams and creeks converge into it. At the Sacramento River Delta, the watershed empties 31 percent of California’s total water runoff into the San Francisco Bay.

In its 384 mile journey, the mighty Sacramento River feeds Lake Siskiyou, Lake Shasta, and the Keswick Reservoir. At Lake Shasta, it is joined by the McCloud River, the Pit River, and Squaw Creek. The picturesque river pays its passage by filling the wells of towns like Mt. Shasta, Dunsmuir, Keswick, Redding, Red Bluff, and Corning.

Cradled by snow capped Mount Shasta, Shasta Lake sparkles like a gem in the sun and is one of the largest and grandest reservoirs on the west coast.

Began in 1939 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation to provide flood control, irrigation and power production for the upper Sacramento Valley, Shasta. Completed in 1944, the dam is 602 feet high with a spillway crest at 3,460 feet.

The combined flow of four great rivers: the Sacramento, the McCloud, the Pit, and Squaw Creek fill the impoundment that creates Shasta Lake. When full, the lake contains 365 miles of shoreline and 4,493,000 acre-feet of water.

Gorsuch Outfitters was formed in 1994 as a partnership between the Gorsuch Family, John Cochran and Dave Bishop. We burst on to the fly fishing scene that May and have been going strong ever since. In 1999 a few changes came about and the operation was moved to Edwards, Colorado just a short drive from Vail. That year John Cochran and his wife Marianne took control of the entire operation and became sole owners of the business.

Cretelakes is a stunning carp fishing holiday venue set in 60 acres, it is located in the beautiful department of Aisne in Picardy northeast France just 3 hours from Calais.

These former gravel pits were created about 25 years ago and were stocked with carp and other course fish around this time. Carp fishing at the venue commenced in November 2008 and early indications suggest there are many big carp already present with fish to 50+ already landed. These carp have been left to thrive in there natural environment without fishing pressure for two decades!

In the winter of 2008/2009 we added a further 850 carp to forty pound, all uncaught mirrors from one of the best sources in France. We believe that added to the original stock Cretelakes will be among the very best carp fishing lakes France has to offer. In March 2010 we will be running organized all inclusive coach trips to and from Cretelakes with food packages included.

You will find out that there are recorded brown trout of more than 13 kilos! We know that browns of 15 kilos have been caught on our river, so why do not give them a try? (Catch & Release only, please).

This program is set up for six full days of fishing on the Ro Grande on the Estancia Mara Behety section and seven days lodging in town at the Posada de los Sauces or similar hotel.

The fishing week starts on Sundays and finishes on Fridays. Saturdays are transfer days.

The lodging is based upon double occupancy in rooms with private bathrooms, continental breakfast, dinner menu ‘a la carte’, at the Posada de los Sauces, in town. Lunch and ‘siesta’ by the river in our new private cabin.

The Rio Grande is the largest river on the Tierra del Fuego island and is well known for its huge sea trout and the solitude of the countryside.

Our Lodge is the Estancia, Cameron’s recently refurbished administration house, built on a high cliff, with a great view over the Darwin Range and less than one hundred yards from the Río Grande. This Estancia has about fifty kilometers of frontage on the north side of the Río Grande (all the way down stream to the Argentinean border)

You will especially enjoy the solitude of having this splendid fishery to yourself with the chance of fishing yet unnamed pools where few outsiders have ever cast a fly

It’s an excellent river for flyfishing, sometimes more challenging and rewarding than downstream in Argentina, due to the different techniques and finesse that have to be employed. The water is much clearer, and maintains it’s clarity, even in higher flows. The fishing is also rewarding because there’s always action.

In this section of the river sea run browns average ten pounds, with monsters up to eighteen/twenty pounds. On occasion we’ll even land really huge fish, well over twelve kilos (twenty six pounds)!!! Unlike the lower Argentinean section of the river, there are also resident river browns up to the six pound class, beautifully coloured fish that readily take our flies.

In addition, anglers will find some healthy, “chromer” lake run browns, with the shape of a rugby ball, that enter the river from the Blanco lake for our enjoyment. And, completing the ‘Grand Slam’, there are rainbows too! You will see them some meters from you, down stream, feeding on the aquatic insects you kick up from the bottom of the river. It’s something to be seen!!!

The fishing season on the Río Grande runs from October through April. In November and December the fishing is very good, but the peak months are January, February, March and April.

A remote and very beautiful, clear flowing, fair-sized river that flows off the slopes of the immense Ichinskaya Volcano in western Kamchatka.

Access to upper river forks by helicopter from town of Esso, skirting the immense and impressive, snow-capped volcano. Put-in on any one of three swift forks, to float quickly through the mountains on this very scenic river. Good fishing for salmon (lots of chums, sockeye and pink, some coho and maybe Masu?). Excellent fishing for big rainbow trout and charr (mostly dollies and some Kundzha. Lots of wildlife-bears, ducks and eagles.

Can be flyfished for much of its length, but intermittent large deep pools from mid-section down would best be probed with spinning gear.

This river fishes best in August and September.

It’s so rare that you will ever come across a guide who is born and bred on a river from where he operates from. Well, Jamie Bietzel is the true article and knows the Daintree River like the back of his hand.

Just 40 minutes north of Port Douglas, Jamie operates his 16ft custom built, aluminium catamaran punt to cater for spectacular river and headland fishing opportunities. Barramundi, fingermark, mangrove jack, trevally, permit, mackerel and screaming monster queenfish are all part and parcel of the species he targets at various times of the year.

Thrown in with stunning backdrops including the Daintree National Park and neighbouring Snapper Island, this raw & vast river system is a truly remarkable fishing experience.

Also you will likely come in close range with the prehistoric estuarine crocodile – only to be caught on film though !

Jamie offers shared or sole charters, half day or full day, including lure and fly fishing trips for the specialist.

As a visiting angler to the area this is a highly recommended tour as Jamie’s fishing and local knowledge of the area is definitely something worth experiencing.

Welcome aboard with Capt. Rich for a day fishing the waters of Marco Island in Southwest Florida. Hes a seasoned Florida fishing guide, and knows where the most productive fishing grounds are located.

We will target all species of fish that inhabit the backwaters of the 10,000 Islands. Some fish are seasonal with warmer or cooler water temperatures. Contact Capt. Rich for a great day of fishing the backwaters of the 10,000 Islands.

Fishing on Floridas West Coast at Marco Island provides some of the greatest fishing action in the world. You can fish for Snook, Redfish, Tarpon, Trout, Mackeral, Pompano, Snapper and Shark. If you’ve never caught a tarpon, you havent experienced fishing!

You’ll fish the Florida back country and flats in a specially rigged flats boat, using the lightest graphite rods with Diawa SS Whisker tournament reels, to land the biggest fish on live bait, freshly cast netted Green back shinners, thread-fins, and mullet when available, or by using live shrimp. Fly fishing also available.

The 1999 Bay & Flats is powered by a 2001 Mercury outboard, and rigged with a Great White trolling motor, poling stand and jackplate. Licenses, bottled water, ice, and soda provided. 1-2 anglers recommended for fishing comfort.

Five huge mountain masses protect the Kona coast from the winds resulting in sea conditions that are usually as calm as a lake. The steep slope of the ocean bottom on the Kona coast puts the deep sea sportfishing within a short distance from the shoreline.
