Gorsuch Outfitters was formed in 1994 as a partnership between the Gorsuch Family, John Cochran and Dave Bishop. We burst on to the fly fishing scene that May and have been going strong ever since. In 1999 a few changes came about and the operation was moved to Edwards, Colorado just a short drive from Vail. That year John Cochran and his wife Marianne took control of the entire operation and became sole owners of the business.

The new fly shop was built in 1999 as well and has been a huge success as well as a great place to centralize the operation in the Vail Valley. The guide service has grown over the years to 16-20 full time guides each summer as well as 2 full time year round guides, 2 saltwater guides in the Florida Keys and several other guides that work in South America during the winter months.

We are very proud of our guide service and would stack our guides against any in the world. Many of our guides spend in excess of 250 days a year on the waters around Vail and other exotic destinations. The depth of knowledge of our staff is as broad and qualified as you will find in any operation of this caliber. We invite you to experience some of the finest fly fishing products and services the West has to offer.
