A Walleye charter with Trophy Charters is guaranteed to be the most exciting Lake Erie fishing charter you’ve ever experienced.

Lake Erie is considered to be the Walleye Capitol of the World! Trophy Charters fishes Port Clinton, OH and Ashtabula, OH, the two hottest ports on Lake Erie. Reserve the best charter fishing guide available. Book a Lake Erie fishing charter with Captain Walt Ermansons today.

Capt. Walt is a full time professional charter captain with over 30 years experience fishing Lake Erie. He runs Walleye charters and Perch charters seven days a week from April 1st through October. His vast knowledge of the lake and his willingness to work hard with everyone, ensures that your trip will be a successful one!

Ashtabula, Ohio is located in the central basin of lake Erie where the bulk of the Walleyes move to in the summer months to seek the cooler, deeper water that is loaded with bait fish. Trophy Charters moves its Lake Erie fishing charter to its home port here in early June.

Offshore fishing is again my specialty as we now chase the big, deep Walleyes and Steelhead that make Ashtabula home for the summer as well. These are trolling trips and big water excitement is guaranteed! And starting in mid September and running thru all of October, Trophy Charters fishes for Jumbo Perch. The Ashtabula area is second to none when it comes to Perch fishing. As always, all gear is included.

Come fish with the best. WE CATCH FISH !

Imagine yourself on an almost undiscovered 250-acre island in the heart of the Emerald Isle, with miles of fishing available just for you. It gets better. This island, surrounded by spectacular views of Upper Lough Erne, offers some of the best angling for pike, roach, bream in Europe.

How good? Well, catches of 200lb of bream are commonplace. Roach can be caught every cast. And one party of four anglers caught more than 70 pike in under two days, with the biggest at nearly 30lb. People like Chris Tarrant and John Baily, who have experienced this beautiful destination, rate it very highly indeed.

This secret paradise is Belle Isle in County Fermanagh. At the heart of the estate is a stunning 17th century castle, where you can stay in absolute luxury. The Castle, has a magnificent banqueting hall, elegant drawing room and eight individually styled bedrooms. If you want to be on the water’s edge, stay in one of the delightful cottages, or hide yourself away in the Walled Garden Cottage, situated in the secret garden. Other accommodation includes a magnificent Coach House, or sumptuous apartments within the courtyard. Whichever you choose, the quality is superb.

Belle Isle offers both bank and boat fishing. A two-minute walk puts you in the legendary bream swims which can be exclusively reserved, so you can prebait with the confidence that those fish are waiting just for you.

It’s not only bream. Roach, perch and hybrids are prolific. Again, catches of 70lb can be taken without putting a bream in your net. At peak time in May and June, it’s possible to take double this weight.

With all those other fish, it’s no surprise that pike fishing is out of this world. The pike come readily to all techniques: fly, jerk baits, lures and traditional methods. Specimens of over 30lb have been taken. It is tremendous ‘doubles’ water.

Anglers staying at Belle Isle have the added bonus of booking one of the well-equipped boats moored by the Bridge House. For disabled anglers, a special boat is available. There is no charge for fishing on the estate and boats with outboard engines are only £20 per day.

‘What a wonderful place and a great concept for the serious fisherman, and so many other interesting things to do. We wish we had discovered it (Koskentila) the first day we were in Finland.’

Gary and Monica Wescott – The Turtle Expedition, Unltd. – California, USA

The Nykälä Rapids are a varied resort for fishing in Finland in the Haukivuori region 40 km north-west of Mikkeli. The Nykälä Rapids belong to the system called the Mäntyharju-route and is situated on the upper course of it.

The fishing area is 4 km long with 5 rapids for brown trout and a separate small lake for large pike (record 15,3 kg).Fish include large brown trout, grayling, pike, perch, ide and bream. The main catch is the brown trout (Salmo trutta). During last season 1085 brown trout were caught by 1120 fishermen. The Nykälä Rapids are number one in Finland for brown trout.

The lower part of the river (2 km) with its four rapids is dedicated to fly-fishing and spin-fishing.

Fishing from the boat is possible in the upper part of the river (2 km) or in a small lake ‘Pieni-Poikimo’ (6 hectares).

The upper part of the river is excellent for exciting torch fishing at nights. Along the fishing area there are bridges, jetties, campfires, a lean-to-shelter, an outhouse. In the courtyard of the estate there is a smoke oven/grill.

Fishing trips are organized to lake Kyyvesi (133 km², 400 islands), well-known for its big pike and pike-perch.

The fishing season continues until the waters freeze at the beginning of December and fishing brown trout is allowed even during 11 September – 15 November

The Koskentila Estate is the center of the fishing area. It is an over 400-year-old traditional Finnish farm now renovated and dedicated to serious fishermen. The Koskentila Estate consists of ten different 130-year-old buildings and the surrounding land and has true historical and scenic value. In the main building there is a café, a kiosk and a reception where you can buy fishing permits and hire a boat or fishing equipment.

The livingroom for the guests is a huge log room with a massive original oven and open fire.

In the reception room there is also a library with books and magazines about fishing and catch statistics.

Accommodation is in the small traditional log cabins around the main building. They have only modest conveniences; heating and lightning with electricity, a fridge and a drying cupboard for wet clothes. Each cabin is furnished with six beds. Total 38 beds. Overnighting is also possible in the lean-to-shelter, a tent or a caravan.

Sauna with an open fire in the dressing room, showers and toilets and kitchen are in separate building.
